PuppyFat is officially one of the top six startups in Europe’s thriving pet care industry. We’re proud to announce that we’ve been named one of the winners of the 2021 UNLEASHED Programme, powered by Nestlé Purina Accelerator Lab.

“This is a big moment for us, and we’re excited for what this means for PuppyFat,” Mike White, Founder of PuppyFat, enthuses.

The UNLEASHED Accelerator connects disruptive pet tech startups in the EMENA (Europe, Middle East & North Africa) region to help enrich the lives of pets and the people who love them. It’s designed to be at the cutting edge of the next generation in pet services, novel nutrition and health technologies to strengthen the bond and lives of our pets and their owners.

“Being recognised for our efforts to reach this goal is – to say the least – amazing,” says Mike.

“The whole PuppyFat team are thrilled to be a part of the programme and can’t wait to see what’s in store for our app and our growing community of breeders.”

Giuseppe Scionti, the founder of Novameat and Natu and previous Unleashed cohort member, spoke about their experience on the accelerator:

“The Purina team gave us so much focus and support. They were very available and didn’t only help but also participated actively in our work. Unleashed gave us the opportunity to get great exposure for our project on the news and in the media, who are now really paying attention to the pet care space.

Joining PuppyFat is pet health app Pawesomer, Pawpots, a food subscription service for dogs and cats, Scorpet, a mobile app dedicated to pet contests, sustainable protein feed company BioKind and Aminoscope an all-digital veterinary service.

“With more than 300 startups applying, we knew the standard of entrants to the programme was really high. However, we were confident that our innovative approach to pet breeding software and the positive impact we’re having on pets, breeders and owners would help us stand out from the crowd,” Mike adds.

Watch this space over the next six months as we embark on this journey.
